Venice Sign Turning Red, White and Blue on Wednesday for Patriotic Birthday Celebration
The world famous Venice sign hanging over Windward Avenue will be turned red-white-and-blue Wednesday night in a patriotic celebration of Venice’s 108th birthday.
The sign will be turned on at 8 p.m. during a lighting ceremony and several local bars and restaurants will be celebrating with a birthday crawl featuring birthday cake, sing-alongs and drink specials.
YAS Fitness Center at 7:15 p.m. will offer a workout and cake and The Townhouse will serve a free shot of bourbon at 7:45 p.m. for those in the bar to celebrate. The Sidewalk Cafe, Danny’s Venice, Bank of Venice, Hama Sushi, Canal Club, James’ Beach and Nikki’s all plan celebrations.

7:45 p.m. Join the communal toast at the Townhouse Venice. Complimentary bourbon shot for everyone in the house to celebrate.

8:00 p.m. Bank of Venice
8:30 p.m. Danny’s Venice. Venice Drinks specials & band!
9:00 p.m. Hama Sushi
9:30 p.m. Canal Club
10:30 p.m. James’ Beach
11:00 p.m. Nikkis Venice Beach with DJ.
The event was being supported by Venice Papparazzi, Yo! Venice, the Venice Neighborhood Council, the Venice Chamber of Commerce and other groups. The sponsors include the participating bars and restaurants, Goldcoast Properties, Hotel Erwin, and The Cadillac Hotel.
